A beautiful reverse carved antique intaglio seal, with the sweet sentimental meaning 'thoughts to you'. This is a rebus seal, meaning the picture makes up part of the phrase. 
 
The image is a pansy, the name of which comes from the french word 'pense' meaning  'think'. It is accompanied by the french words 'a vous' which mean to you, giving us the phrase 'thoughts to you'. This was a symbol often used in the Victorian era to convey secret messages of thinking of a loved one.
 
We have neatly set the seal, in a simple 9 carat gold bezel setting, which carries a new full hallmark with our sponsors mark.
