A stunning Edwardian ruby and diamond navette ring!

Quite a substantial ring, this is in very good antique condition. The ruby is a stunning early synthetic or lab created gemstone, likely made by the verneuil or flame fusion method published by Auguste verneuil in 1902. They were highly sought after at this time, marking a huge scientific milestone in the prodution of synthetic gemstones. The ruby is deep pink to red and the halo of natural diamonds are old cuts. Surrounding this man mae Ruby with such beautiful natural old cut diamonds, is testament to how the synthetic gems were regarded. The diamonds are eye clean, bright in colour and very sparkly, adding to the overall effect of the ring.

A lovely comfortable ring to wear and an impressive spread! There are no marks, but the ring tests as 9 carat gold with no thinning of the band. The Diamonds are silver set, and the ruby has a fine gold bezel. We have left the antique patina, but this could be polished at your request, after purchased if desired.
