Antique Victorian opal, rose and old cut diamond bar brooch 12 carat gold

I bought this, with the intention to make a drop pendant, but it is such a beautiful piece of jewellery, I have to first offer it as a brooch, but if you would like it as a pendant, do please go ahead and purchase the brooch and we will sort conversion for you.

The use of different diamond cuts in the design is scintillating, showing fire whichever way you turn it. The opals set in-between are full of colour, on a white base, showing mostly blue, green and and orange glow. 

I would tentatively approximate the carat weight of the diamonds around 1 carat, but as rose cuts face up much larger, it looks very impressive for this estimate.

The condition is very good, with just minor wear to the setting on two of the side diamonds, though they are still secure and with one of the smallest rose cuts showing a small chip.
