A beautiful high domed garnet cabochon sits at the centre of this ring, in a simple open backed bezel setting. The shank has a lovely shape with a 1.7-2mm wide d shape profile. The garnet raises 7.8mm from the finger and has a wonderful bright glow when it catches the light.
 
In very good antique condition, there is minor age related wear to the shank, a historic sizing line at the reverse and a small patch where the gold has been previously tested, but none of these things detract from the ring when worn.
