Antique Victorian rose and old cut diamond ring 15 carat gold
Era: Victorian 1837-1901
Metal: 15 carat gold
Gemstones: Rose and old mine cut diamonds x9
Size: UK M/US 6.25/EU 52.5
Weight: 1.9g
A distinctly mid Victorian era ring, set with a quatrefoil shaped cluster of chunky old cut diamonds, totalling approx. 0.45 carats measured in setting. Held in ornately engraved head, which has faded softly with time.
The four largest diamonds measure 2.5x2.3mm, all old cuts, except one which is a rose cut, but I think original not a replacement. The centre diamond measures 2x2.2mm and then there are 4 further 1mm rose cut chips. They are all bright and lively and of good clarity. One diamond has a very small surface scratch, but otherwise the condition is very good.
This is a ring that would have been bewitching to behold in candle light!
