This is a fine Victorian, 18 carat gold signet ring with a black shield shaped onyx, held in bezel setting. It is a substantial ring with a detailed reeded shank.
 
The condition is excellent with very little wear for a ring of this age, with only a little thinning at the back of the shank. The onyx is also in exceptionally good antique condition, as you can see in the photos.
