A half fringe drop necklace of faceted peridot and garnet gemstones, set in 9 carat gold claw settings. It dates to the late Victorian era, circa 1890-1900. The Gemstones are a delightful combination of colours and shapes, which catches the eye!
The settings are all open backed and the stones are attached to a fine cable link chain, with a flourish of knot goldwork, reminiscent of a fleur de lis and it closes with a bolt ring fastening.
It is in very good condition with the original gemstones. There is some wear to one Peridot, which shows two small surface chips, one to the top of the stone and one to the left hand side, I have photographed this closely for you to see. All of the other gemstones are in excellent condition.
I hope you can enjoy the unique beauty of this combination, we do not see it very often!
