Antique Victorian garnet and paste drop earrings 9 carat gold and silver
Era: Victorian 1837-1901
Metal: 9 carat gold and silver
Gemstones: Garnet cabochon x2 8x6mm, clear paste x2 5.5mm
Drop: 20mm from posts
Weight: 3.1g for the pair
These earrings are made from antique components, from a brooch I bought at the same time as the riviere necklace that they match. The gemstones are held in the original cut down collet settings, the garnet cabochons in 9 carat gold and the pastes in silver. We have added new 9 carat gold stud posts and butterfly backs.
We opened up the backs of the pastes as there was some damage to the foil behind them that was making them very dark. There are some small scratches to the surface of the garnets on both earrings. I have shown the earrings worn with the riviere necklace they match, which is available in a separate listing.
