Antique Victorian engraved torpedo drop earrings gold plated

You would be forgiven for thinking these were very expensive high carat gold victorian torpedo earrings, they certainly look the part! Here we have all the look for a fraction of the cost, as they are crafted from gold plated base metal instead.
 
In very good antique condition, there is a mark to the reverse of one earring from testing. They vary slightly from each other due to their handmade nature, the engraved portion of the top ball in particular, though when worn either side of ones face this is very hard to notice!
