A true classic design of antique jewellery. Snake rings were popularised by Queen Victoria, whose engagement ring from Prince Albert was a single coiled serpent. They remained all the rage throughout the Victorian era and into the 20th century and we seemingly still have a fascination with them today!
Used to represent eternal love, the two snakes show two entwined souls. It is hallmarked, but the band has thinned a little, making it difficult to read, although I can still see half the Chester assay mark, a 5 for 15 (it tests as 15ct Gold) and the font of the letter looks to be those that date from 1901-1926 but I can't decipher which letter.
It is in good antique condition with a little wear to each side where it has been worn with another ring and rubbed, please see the photos. The Emerald and old cut Diamond are both in very good antique condition free from chips and with only light signs of wear.
