Antique Victorian garnet gemstone bead necklace 9ct clasp

A lovely necklace of faceted bohemian garnet gemstones, strung with a 9 carat gold engraved clasp. It dates to the mid Victorian era, circa 1860.
 
The Gemstones are faceted and knotted in between each bead. There is a little stretch in places between the beads, but generally the stringing is in good condition, suitable for careful wear. There is general wear to most of the Garnets, with abrasion seen to the facets and facet edges as well as small scratches and fleabites throughout. Some of the Garnets have larger more obvious signs of wear. 
 
The length of the necklace means that this can be worn long as a single string, perhaps layered with other chains, or worn doubled up.
