Antique Victorian amethyst half riviere necklace 9 carat gold

A simple design of half riviere necklace, allowing the series of fourteen faceted amethyst gemstones to shine, set in 9 carat gold bezel settings. It dates to the Victorian era.
 
The whole piece is open backed and the stones are attached to a fine cable link chain with a bolt ring fastening. It is in excellent condition with the original gemstones, which are a beautiful rich purple colour, there is some very minor surface wear, to be expected with its age.
