A certified natural pearl necklace, freshly re-strung and individually hand knotted. We have paired the antique Victorian era pearls, which came to us unfinished; with an appropriate matching era of clasp C.1880. The Pearls are graduated in size from 2mm to 4.6mm, to flatter the neck.
They are lustrous and creamy in colour, with a mixture of pale peach and lavender overtones due to natural variation in colour. The necklace measures 40.5cm in length or 15.94 inches and features 113 Pearls. The clasp features a fabulous central 3.6mm old cut diamond, encircled by a halo of small split pearls. It remains in excellent antique condition, with just very minor wear to some small areas of the pearls.
The Pearls in the necklace have been tested and verified as natural saltwater by the Gem & Pearl Lab London and will be sent with the report. Once valued more highly than Diamonds, for their rarity and the dangers involved in Pearl hunting; from a time where they could only be collected by hand and that meant free divers staying underwater for extended periods without oxygen.
These gorgeous pearls will be sent using Special Delivery or International Courier service, fully insured in our luxury branded packaging.
