What a gorgeous statement heart pendant! It has beautiful gold cannetille work in the etruscan revival style and an opal set to the front, making a very pretty overall look. It is plated in high carat gold, giving it a rich tone.
It opens to reveal it is a locket, with the original retainer frames in both sides and it closes securely with a click.
The back is marked 9ct for the gold, 9 carat back & front was typical construction for lockets, using gold for the entire front and back panels, over a gilded base metal frame for strength.
