A simply sublime star motif of high, chunky, old cut Diamonds. The centre piece of this newly made ring, hails from the late Georgian era C.1820, likely once part of a larger suite of jewellery.
It came to us, on an Art Deco era bar brooch, which didn't really suit it, so we had our goldsmith make this beautiful ring, using the gold from the brooch. It sits flat to the finger, very comfortably and offers great coverage.
The Diamonds are bright and lively, all with varying degrees of warmth and remain in excellent condition for their age, with just some very minor surface abrasions, appropriate to the 200 year age of the piece. They are all held in closed back silver settings, with a cut down collet on the centre Diamond. We have kept the patina of the Silver, with as little polishing as possible during the conversion.
The piece is backed in 9 carat Gold and the shank is also 9 carat to match, with a dainty width of 2mm. It is suitable for regular wear, but do be mindful of closed back settings and exposure to water.
