You cannot miss the glow of this gorgeous large cabochon garnet. It is closed back and flashes vibrant red as it moves. It is set in rich 15 carat gold, enhanced to a buttery yellow tone by an 18 carat gilding.
The shape is representative of a Victorian style heart and I would think that was intended by the maker. There are pretty foliate engraved details to the outer scrolling gold work, enhancing its sentiment.
It is a more statement piece at 8.3 grams and has been converted to a pendant from the original antique brooch.
