Antique Edwardian sardonyx signet ring 15 carat gold

This is a fine antique 15 carat gold signet ring with a rectangular orange red carnelian sardonyx gemstone, held in a bezel setting. It is a substantial ring with a generous use of 15 carat gold, weighing just over 6 grams.
 
The sardonyx measures 12.5mm by 9mm in size, sits 3mm above the finger when worn and is set on a substantial four section 7mm band
 
The carnelian sardonyx changes colour depending on the light, from an orange tone through to a dusky red/ dark pink shade, and the ring is open backed.
 
The condition is excellent with very little wear for a ring of this age. The sardonyx is also in very good condition with little sign of wear.
